We are looking for a graphics designer for a volunteer job to design a logo, three animated banners, and integrate the designed logo into an existing image. The designer must give www.Comunitatea-Romana.com full copyrights to the logo and banners to use them for any purpose whatsoever.

The graphics are needed for the www.Comunitatea-Romana.com web site. The audience for this web site is the Romanian community living abroad. The web site features Wiki articles provided by the community members, forums, chats, blogs, and ads boards. Because the audience for this site is the Romanian community, the logo must include elements that are reflective of the Romanian national identity.

The key words or ideas that one should think of when seeing this logo are:

Please do not use Romania’s map as a symbol in the logo design.

Our preferred Romanian symbol included above is “The table of silence” because the table and chairs around it do suggest a community or people interaction. We are leaning towards a logo that includes a stylized representation of the “Table of silence” but you can propose a different solution.

The technical requirements and detailed descriptions for these graphics are listed below.

  • The logo must be square and in vector image format so that it can be resized to any dimensions without loss of quality.
  • A jpeg copy of the logo at 135x135 pixels has to be included
  • Logo must be static (no animations)
  • Logo must blend nicely with the default MediaWiki skin (see http://america.comunitatea-romana.com/)

[editează] Integrate logo into existing image

Integrate logo above into the linked iCGStation-banner.jpg image (see http://forum.comunitatea-romana.com/america/templates/iCGstation/images/banner.jpg). You will have to remove the house image, “iCGstation” label, and “Version 1.0” label from the attached image and replace them with the designed logo.

  • The image size, colors and format (JPG) must be preserved (740 width x 100 height).
  • The logo must blend nicely with the rest of the elements of the image.

[editează] Two full size banners

The sizes for the full size banners are:

  • 468x60 also known as full size
  • 392x72 also known as full size with navigation bar

The 2 full size banners will have to be animated and have a maximum length of 10 seconds. The following texts will fly in an out of the banner. Each text will stay in the banner for no more than 3 seconds and the final frame must be shown before 10 seconds have passed.

Item no. 4 above contains the logo image and it will remain on the screen. Animation will not resume after the last frame.

The banners must be developed in Flash or must be GIF files and they must be relatively small, preferably less than 10kb.

[editează] One ‘button 2’ size banner

This is a 120x60 banner also known as button 2 size.

  • It has to be animated.
  • It must include a small logo in all frames.
  • It must include the domain name www.Comunitatea-Romana.com in all frames. It can be in small print.
  • Following words will fly in and out: Chat, Forums, Blogs, Wiki. Each word stays for 2 seconds.
  • Animation resumes at the end.

The banner must be developed in Flash or must be GIF file and it must be relatively small, preferably less than 10kb.
